Typhoon Haiyan Relief

“Standing Together, Supporting the Cause”

Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization Typhoon Haiyan Relief

On November 12, 2013, Philippines’ President Ninoy Aquino declared a national state of calamity. Typhoon Haiyan has left the Philippines in much devastation. Families throughout the world have been impacted. FUSO’s deepest sorrow and compassion for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines has challenged us to identify how we can support.

We are reaching out to the USD community knowing that standing together we can have more of an impact in supporting relief efforts. FUSO has coordinated the following activities to serve as fundraisers. The funds will be distributed to Catholic Relief Services and our local Gawad Kalinga Foundation.

FUSO will be exploring more opportunities on how to partner with departments on campus this semester and next semester. We understand that these relief efforts have our current attention, and we will be planning how to continue supporting in the following years.

Take time to spend with your loved ones and support these activities. We appreciate your concerns and support and hope our USD community can come together during this time.
